Audiometers
Audiometry machines are devices that allow various frequencies of varying intensities of sound to be played to a patient. Hearing test machines are a subjective method of determining hearing loss, as a patient input is required for the response and a trained audiologist is required for interpreting the data. An instrument for measuring hearing consists of several features and parts. For example, an audiometer has independent channels for the left or right audio output, which allows the clinician to provide an audio stimulus to only one ear at a time in varying ways. In addition to channel independence, over-the-ear headphones are used to attenuate external sounds so that the patient can wholly focus on the test at hand.
Medical Device Depot has clinical audiometers for sale by major brands, such as Ambco, Amplivox, Benson, Maico, Micro Audiometrics, Vitalograph and Welch Allyn. A portable audiometer is lightweight and can run on batteries. Alternatively, we also offer personal-computer-based devices that work with the software on a computer with the headphones plugged into the computer's audio port. Many options are available, including carrying cases and headphones, to fit any application.
