Vaccine Storage and Handling

Vaccine Storage and Handling

New requirements from the CDC for 2018

It is estimated that $20 million is wasted every year from poor refrigeration, and up to 35% of vaccines are affected by improper storage.

Purpose-built pharmacy/vaccine refrigerators and freezers play an important role in cold chain management. Don’t trust your vaccines to household grade or dorm-type refrigerators.
The CDC recommends (and VFC requires) using only calibrated temperature monitoring devices with a Certificate of Calibration. Refer to CDC best practices and comprehensive resources on vaccine handling and storage, as well as the new 2018 Vaccine Storage and Handling Toolkit.

At Medical Device Depot, we have a full line of pharmacy and medical grade refrigerators and freezers designed to meet or exceed current federal, state and vaccine manufacturers' guidelines for vaccine storage, whether you need a small undercounter unit or one of our large capacity models. Choose from freezers, refrigerators and refrigerator/freezer combinations in a variety of sizes and configurations.
