-196°C Medical-Grade Cryogenic Freezers
Cryogenic storage is the coldest medical storage, and it ensures that vaccines are maintained at -196°C for long-term storage. A -196°C cryofridge is maintained at a constant temperature by liquid nitrogen (LN2), requiring periodic refilling or hook-up to an LN2 supply. This supply of LN2, coupled with insulating containers, maintains ultra-low-temperature freezers for ensuring vaccine viability during long-term storage.
We offer a full line of ABS cryogenic storage for labs and pharmaceuticals. Lower-volume storage is offered through the CryoMax brand of ABS, with storage for 750–6000 vials or 30–60 2"-high boxes. These cryogenic freezers require manual refilling and can have a static holding time at the rated temperature from 76 to 104 days. The higher-capacity line of the medical-grade cryogenic freezer that is carried by ABS is the KryoVault System, which can hold between 19,500 and 79,300 vials. This line of freezers can be locked, can be hooked directly up to an LN2 line for refilling, can display the temperature and has audible and visual alarms for low or high-level LN2, low or high temperature, an open lid, a power failure or a sensor failure.
